PharmRight Corporation, a healthcare technology company based in Charleston, SC, announced today that CEO Bill Park was selected by the Charleston Regional Business Journal as one of it 2014 Health Care Heroes. Each year the Business Journal and its partners honor the men, women and organizations who contribute to the health and well-being of the community. The Business Journal will celebrate the honorees during an event on November 20 at the Francis Marion Hotel in downtown Charleston.
Randy Parker, Vice President & CFO of PharmRight, said “This is a fantastic honor for Bill and for our company. PharmRight is transforming Bill’s vision for a fully automated home medication dispenser into reality with our beta test devices coming off the assembly line in the next two weeks. It is gratifying to see Bill’s positive impact on health care recognized in our community.”
PharmRight Corporation was formed in 2013 to produce devices and offer services that maximize medication adherence and keep patients at home. The company has developed Livi™, an innovative, fully automated home medication dispenser. A new entrant to what is being called “The Internet of Things,” Livi is designed to simulate the supervision of an on-site caregiver by prompting the user to take the right medication…at the right time…in the right quantity…with the right instructions under the Internet-enabled remote oversight of a caregiver or a team of caregivers. A cloud application monitors and captures all user interactions with the device. Family members and professional caregivers can be alerted via text message or e-mail if a user skips a dose or requires a re-fill. Comprehensive medication adherence reports are available via computer and mobile devices.
